Contractors Damaged my phone

Complaint against Your Budget Cover

I made a claim on her policy for accidental damage in August 2015 and the firm then carried out repairs to her handset. Consumer then had further accidental damage to her handset in September 2015, which caused my screen to have multiple cracks. I was aware that accidental damage can only occur once within the policy, so took this to Apple for repairs. When I visited Apple I was told by the firm that a pin had been removed when her handset and therefore it was modified by the previous party and they had declined the repairs now my handset is out of warranty. This is usual policy if a phone is taken to be repaired by a third party. At this stage my phone was in working order and the touch screen facility was working, it was just that my screen had multiple cracks on the screen. I then took it to 2 independent stalls on the high street to get fixed and they could not fixed due to the same problem. At this time each independent provider had opened my phone in front of me and explained that there is a pin missing which connects the LCD screen and makes the touch device visible to see and work. And the LCD screen they stocked was not compatible with my phone as the pin is missing and that I will need to take it back to my insurers. At this point they put my phone back together and it was working, just the visible multiple cracks. I had spoken to Your budget cover about this and they wanted to have my handset sent into them to investigate further. In the interim the company was asking for inappropriate resources for me to obtain in order for them to consider a decision such as getting a report from a high street stall and then to take pictures of my phone before sending it to the insurers for their records. Their contractors The New Pc had collected my phone 30th September 2015 and return my handset in non working order (Touch screen element is not working now) on 7th October 2015 and their findings was that my phone had all pins when they had worked on it and so therefore it was not their responsibility to fix it and they are not liable for further damaging my phone and posing that it was Apple Brent Cross or the independent store who damaged my phone further. My argument is that I had purchased my phone outright from Apple and Your Budget Cover was the only ever third party who has had any dealings with my phone after I claimed via accidental damage and feel if I never dropped my phone accidentally would have never known that Your Budget Cover contractors had damaged my phone by the pin being missing making it hard for any other retailers to give me a replacement screen due to their compatible screen is not compatible with my phone and cannot connect to the LCD screen like The New PC (Contractors of Your Budget Mobile Cover). I now feel obligated that I have to pay £100 to be get it fix by them, as a consumer I have rights to get my handset fixed anywhere. Furthermore they do not have any proof to show that all pins was there and that they are the only party who had any dealings with my phone before I took it to Apple.I would like to mention that it doesstate in the TC’s that compatible equipment will be used but no modification in order to contract the consumer to use their company against their own will. I feel I have been mislead by this mobile phone insurance company and robbed in many ways and the professionalism of the staff was extremely un-courteous and unprofessional. Just as it could not get any better my handset now is unofficially not working where it has lines on top and bottom of the screen and the touch screen facility is not working. So I am unable to unlock my phone to use.At the worst now nobody can fix it other than The New PC and they are charging a lot more than Apple and they are the one which removed the pin from my phone making it hard for any other retailer to fix it. I am extremely livid. Please can you look into this.

I was finally given a brand new replacement but when I had asked for compensation for this traumatic experience I was refused by the company. At the beginning I had to pay excess and the rest of the years money for something which was invalid and was not fixed entirely and still felt I was robbed by this company. I have cancelled my direct debit as this somehow still makes you contracted with them despite paying for the whole year, as I wish not to have anymore dealings with this company.

They Refused to give me compensation from the whole experience which I received and the excess plus rest of the year money which I had to pay up front. As I believe I should receive this back as the contract was broken from then as my phone was further damaged at this point by them. I feel robbed and would never insure anything I own with them again!
