[RESOLVED] - Cumbria flood damaged car on fully comp insurance, 11 days to collect, then valued at 60% its value

Complaint against Legal \u0026 General

We were flooded at home in Cumbria on December 5th, almost 2ft of water through the house and cars, everything ruined, and lives turned upside down. Some companies have been amazing, like Adrian Flux and Canopius. We had two cars with policies via onecall, Ageas handling one, and legal General handling the other. Ageas were great with the first car, collected and paid very quickly once the claim went through. Legal and general are a different story, we notified them on Dec 6th, after repeated phone calls daily (11 days later) they finally collected the car, and they came in with an offer on day 15, the offer being 50-60% of the value the car was insured for . (Insured for £4000) - they offered £2100 and to be deducted from that is the excess and insurance left to pay. We told them that a car of similar mileage, colour and condition is £3k- £4K on auto trader . It is up to us to prove it!, (by post), we explained the computer was killed by the floods, so can not print anything - but they do not care. So now we have to screen shot the evidence on auto trader, via mobile phone, and find a Boots maybe to print them as photographs, and send off. Whilst all this goes on we are just trying to put our lives back together - not looking to profit, just get back to get back to a place that insurance is supposed there for
