Complaint against I-Model management

I answered an ad on Facebook for This company . Took my daughter for a photo shoot and was told that she was successful but would Need a portfolio . The cost was 2,300 And I paid £600 deposit . Changed my mind after a bad feeling next Day and now lost the money . They send people to a place called regency photo studio. In London and I think that they are in the scam together . Have emailed severL times but just been pointed in the direction of what I signed for . Found out it was a scam by watching watchdog which had another company doing the same thing .

Under the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (as amended) it is a criminal offence for an employment agency to charge models an upfront fee, and to insist that you use photographic services which are provided by the agency (or by any person with whom the agency is connected). Hi there - Thank you very much for this information! We are not a modelling agency and we do not sell portfolios. This client was sent through to a studio for an assessment and purchased an optional portfolio with an independent studio. As such, the above law does not apply.

Why is your model platform company registered as an imaging company with companies house then ? They are not that independent that you are putting clients in their direction and the (assessor ) who I dealt with was working for the studio but employed by imodel on the day of the assessment supposedly to assess my daughter doesn't sound very independent to me

Companies House lists James Dando as the sole "officer" and sole shareholder. It listing his occupation as: "model agent". There are posts on my Facebook page setting out why such businesses are employment (model) agencies, and I will shortly put one on with regard I-Model Management specifically. Have now put a post on my Modelling Information Service page on Facebook with regard I-Model Management and the law on employment (model) agencies, and how to get your money back.

Imodel has deleted their comment of an offer of me to pay them £1800 instead of £2,400 . They consider this a very generous one . For what ? A promise of work and money that isn't there !

Dear Noreen, I'm so sorry to hear that you have had this experience with the studio we sent you through to! Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with our company as they operate independently. Having said that, I have gotten in touch with the studio and they have advised me that they have downgraded your portfolio package and are trying to reach a compromise to settle this matter.

If you would like any help regarding your daughter's modelling career, please do get in touch with us - we can also help you get in touch with the studio. You can reach me via [email protected] -Lola
