Complaint against Darlings of Chelsea

Many thanks for your email. I was disappointed to find that you have not been fully informed of the faults regarding the sofa as we had spent a good few hours with your Technician explaining all the defects. For your convenience I made a comprehensive record of the faults below however in summary I would kindly like to request for a full refund and arrange a convenient date for the sofa to be collected. When I ordered from Darlings of Chelsea, I was expecting a high quality sofa given the reputable brand, value of my investment and time spent waiting for the sofa to be manufactured and delivered. Instead I have a sofa that has gaps in it, fabric defects and electrics that do not work – not the best craftsmanship to say the least. I especially do not want to spend the next several weeks awaiting parts and having my living room being converted into a sofa workshop, especially since I have recently had new flooring laid. Details of faults with the sofa: 1) Left hand facing back lumbar was rubbing against the left hand arm The tech applied a leather conditioner which has stopped the squeaking, however as a result of forcing his arm down the side of the sofa it has created a gap. I also am conscious that whilst applying a balm is a great short term measure I have no confidence that this has solved the issue. 2) Leather pooling and puddling and top stitching There is a fault. Leather is elastic and its shape reflects the amount of use an area gets, however this sofa is less than two months old therefore I would not expect this stretching to occur so soon. The leather has not been pulled tight enough. 3) Leather Scar on Left Hand Facing Inside Lumbar Unit Whilst I appreciate small lines or blemishes on leather sofas adds characteristic, this scar is c. 5-6cm in length and does not constitute as small. 4) Seat cushions Whilst this can be repaired I am not happy about the manual work being carried out in my living room and there is no assurance that the parts orderly will fit perfectly. 5) Intermittent Electric Recliner Again, I did not give consent for my living to be a workshop nor request a order to be made. I waited 3 months for this sofa and it is not satisfactory that I have to wait even more for this brand new sofa to be repaired. Please let me know the next steps to having this sofa refunded and collected. Kind Regards, Mr M C F Vaz
