[RESPONDED] DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY WORST EVER!!!

Complaint against 247 Home Rescue

Took Boiler Insurance out with 24/7 Home Rescue in good faith. I opted to pay extra for no Excess but subsequently received email to say in view of age of boiler there was a compulsory £75. I thought this was u derstandable so accepted and took policy out. After few months had cause to make a claim which I did online on a Sunday and didn't expect any response until the following day at earliest. I was out for rest of day and didn't check my phone etc until evening. I noticed had four missed calls and two emails for 24/7. I thought this was excellent service - Little did I know this was just to get the £75 - I was woken up on the Monday morning before 8am with another call requesting the £75 before the engineer would call. I thought this strange as have never been asked for Excess payment in advance by any other company. After engineer checked the boiler he said need a new part and would order this. An hour later I had phone call requesting the I pay nearly £400 for the repair. I was not prepeard to pay this and as no repair had been carried out requested the Excess be refunded I was told in no uncertain terms after speaking to several people that company does not give refunds and it wasn't and Excess it was a Call Out charge. When I tried to explain I wasn't happy about this the Agent terminated my call. EXCELLENT SERVICE UNTIL YOU PART WITH YOUR MONEY THEN COULDNT CARE LESS. FOR INTEREST I CHECKED HOW MUCH THE REPAIR WOULD BE IF I PAID MYSELF WITHOUT INSURANCE AND WAS £350. THEREFORE I WAS PAYING MY INSURANCE FOR NOTHING IN VIEW IF AGE IF BOILER. THEREFORE COMPSNY SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCEPTED MY APPLICATION BUT WAS GOOD WAY OF GETTING £75 -

Thank you for your review. As your boiler is over the age of 11 an excess applies. Excess - means the first amount of each claim, payable by you to the helpline before the approved engineer will attend. This payment will be taken by the helpline before assistance is provided.
