money charged after cancellation

Complaint against Expedia

i made a booking but cancelled within their terms, i had confirmation of cancellation and that there were no charges. When my bank statement came i found that the hotel had charged me. I tried several times to speak to Expedia but the queue length used all my phone credit so I emailed. At first they said i couldn't have cancelled in time but when i sent proof they said that as i had cancelled the hotel would not have charged me , each time i contacted them I got to a different person who asked for the same things again and again and again and said they would sort it again and again. In the end i sent a copy of the money being taken and despite this and many subsequent emails i still haven't got my money back.
