Faulty HFT Unit on a Honda CR-V

Complaint against Mercedes-Benz

Purchased a 2007 Honda CR-V May 2015 which was delivered to me on 26th May 2015. The car was placed on the drive and not used and had to be jump started, which I though was due to lack of usage. However, to avoid this I decided to purchase a new battery and all was well for about a month then we had to jump start again.. The car had a grinding noise which was due to faulty brakes. When the car was taken to Honda for the replacement brakes, I ask for a diagnostic test for power drain and was told the HFT unit was draining the battery and needed to be replaced. This unit to be replace would be £1119.12, I asked Mecedes of Perth to assist me to change this Item and they have refused, stating that the car was now out of warrant, This issue stated from day one and due the value of the item I belieive they have some duty of care. Can you help?
