Complaint against Pakistan International Airlines
My brother was booked on a PIA flight PK 0750 on 25 October 2015 from Islamabad headed to Paris, France (CDG). The flight was originally scheduled for 08.45am however, my brother had received a call one week earlier informing him that the departure time had changed to 09.50am. My Brother had arrived at the airport at 7.00am making sure he had plenty of time to check. After he was checked in he started to make his way to the departure lounge where he was stopped and asked to search his bag. He happily agreed and the airport worker asked him some question i.e. where he was going etc. The airport worker then decided to harass my brother as usual asking him for money- I have to say this is a regular occurrence at Islamabad airport as it often happens to me too. Whilst waiting in the queue with several other passengers to board his flight they were informed that boarding for flight PK 0750 had finished. You can imagine the panic on everyone’s faces and the outrage this had caused. The passengers demanded an explanation as to why they had received calls to say the flight was leaving at a later time and then the gate closed early. The airport officers could not and would not answer the passenger’s questions and told them that they will need to take this up with PIA as it was them that had informed them of the new flight time. When I heard of this you can imagine my disgust and frustration with your company – What should have been done was put the passengers that you informed of a later flight time on another flight. I am writing to you as I am absolutely shocked and appalled at this service. I know Pakistan is a third world country but did not expect third class service from PIA.
