Complaint against A Shade Greener
An elderly lady friend of 89 years of age admits she was wrong in signing up for a boiler from this company. With the worst weather conditions in years the boiler broke down with temperatures dropping to -8. Numerous attempts to contact the company by telephone or by email were no success. Messages on the answering system were left then she finally managed to get through to a very unhelpful representative of the company. She was told that they could not get out to repair the boiler due to the weather. I do not think this is acceptable for an 89 year old lady to be left without any source of heating. She had been told that no other company may work on their boiler and would have to wait to get the boiler fixed. I advised against waiting for a company that could not even say when they would come out. The beast from the east was in full flow so British gas were contacted instead. Within an hour yes an hour they were at her house and had the heating working. The condenser pipe had frozen so pipe was disconnected to drip into a bowl until weather had improved. Prior and still to the heating going off, the boiler has sounded like it is going to shake itself to pieces. The supplier has been informed of this and that the boiler is having to flow into a bowl. Due to a service being at the end of the month she has been told they would not come out till then. Surely there is a safety concern leaving the boiler in this condition. A shade greener have threatened to remove boiler if the elderly customer withholds the monthly payment for their simply shocking service. After reading other complaints it looks as though this company prey on the elderly and not look after them. Disgusted their getting away with this.
