Found out today 15/02/19, that ALL the electricity generated from the solar panels goes straight into the grid, and SAG get paid for all of the generation by a company called ECOTRICITY. So what benefit is it to us??

How does that happen? I thought that if you used the electricity whilst it was being generated in the day then you got it free and only the extra is exported to the grid... Have I misunderstood?

Yes you have misunderstood. ASG make money out of the FIT (this is a generation payment for producing the Solar energy), then you get to use the power for free (I assume). Any power you don’t use gets fed back into the grid and they get paid for that too (Export tariff). Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have no affiliation with ASG, but work in SolarEdge PV.

I am having the same issue with ASG, I don't believe I am benefiting from the solar panels. Have tried getting some answers but they are very evasive with any questions I ask. Very interested to know how Peter Wood discovered that fact about ECOTRICITY
