Complaint against Purple Bricks Estate Agents
Purple Bricks engages in misleading advertising which amounts to misrepresentation. They are the worst performing agent in my area (no house sales) had I have known this I would never have selected them. I checked this out in my post code region and a couple others and they sold the least number of houses (none in my post code) in the last 12 months. 2) I was denied my statutory right to cancel as Stage 3 of the follow up sales process was missed out. 3) After securing agreement to proceed Purple Bricks unilaterally imposed further terms including higher conveyancing costs and fees which were to be paid from the conveyancing company to Purple Bricks (this was not mentioned at the point of sale). Further, Purple Bricks also represents conflicting and confusing terms: on the one hand stating that you have to use their conveyancers if you wish to defer payment and on the other hand stating that you can defer and if you don’t use the conveyancers recommended by Purple Bricks then a different and separate additional fee is payable to Purple Bricks upon completion. 4) Purple Bricks did not provide the service which was agreed. They may have advertised the property online, but access via the on line platform was either impossible or inefficient so that the prospects of securing a sale were remote if they existed at all. My one contact in over 3 months could not scroll down on the site to read my response. I had to find her on Face book and make private contact to secure a viewing.
