Complaint against Morrisons

in June this year, we purchased 2 Packs of Morrison's own brand Frozen Mackerel. when cooked they were bright orange (photo's available) and foul tasting. i immediately raised this as a concern to Morrisons who did not seem to recognise the potential human health implications of selling a contaminated product. You might think that our supermarkets would have a clear process in place to react quickly and efficiently to any food safety issue flagged by the public. but I was shocked at how hard it was to get one of the nations largest grocers to recognise there could be a human health issue associated with contaminated food products. In the end, I had to contact the Morrisons CEO to get any meaningful response at all, by which time weeks had passed and any chance of preventing harm to vulnerable customers such as the elderly or infirm will have passed. Their knowledge of food safety, in general, seemed to be wholly inadequate and this has undermined all confidence in their ability to manage their supply chain. It has now been 13 weeks since this was reported and I still do not have a refund for the original purchase of the product, let alone all my time wasted chasing them for basic responses, even though this has been promised weeks ago.
