Complaint against Vax

I rang them to say my hoover has broke for a second time since it was purchased as a gift for christmas 2015. If i or my in laws don't have the receipt, then we have to pay for replacement part, £80+...this does not seem fair as I think an expensive hoover should last more that 18mths, especially if it has already broken...not good craftmanship. Who really keeps all receipts for ever, not practical, things get lost or binned. These companies take your money, but get out of keeping up with their end of the bargain. This machine should have lasted a lot longer than this. I am very disappointed. I have been telling everyone what a fab hoover this is, but no more, I don't want to advocate a machine that will last under 2years. They used to make things that lasted, not anymore. They take our money, again and again....
