Opting to unsubscribe from Boots' promotional emails is like trying to stop the tide from coming in

Complaint against Boots

Despite following the unsubscribe link on 5 occasions, I still receive junk email from boots trying to sell offers on a loyalty card I don't own. They only have my email because they failed to deliver my first (and only) mail order correctly. I have sent an mail to their customer service department asking to be removed and heard nothing in response. Pressing the unsubscribe button is like pulling a lever that isn't attached to anything. If this is the case, why offer the option to unsubscribe? I am less likely to shop at Boots with every email that I receive.
