Complaint against Tesco
As treasurer for a local charity, I was charged with purchasing gift cards for our members. Due to a misunderstanding, I purchased too many. John Lewis very helpfully refunded on the excess cards but Tesco refused, constantly chanting the mantra that "the computer cannot give refunds on gift cards". I tried in-store, the customer service national phone line and email to Dave Lewis to no avail. This was a genuine mistake on my part but I really feel that such a vast organisation could have found someone who could tell the computer to say yes. This charity is effectively out of pocket by £2000! Merry Christmas!
