Complaint against Waitrose
I have shopped at Waitrose for many years but, after recent experiences, feel that I would rather take my custom elsewhere! The service has deteriorated badly in recent months - waiting times at check out often are unacceptably long. On four separate occasions tills which have had a closed sign forcing the customer to join long queues have then been opened but there has been no supervision to ensure customers who’ve been waiting longest are served first! Yesterday, I complained but the ‘manager’ was very slow to respond then the young man who had been requested to open another till ignored those who’d been waiting and went to the far end of the store. I expressed my frustration and anger and was met with an extremely rude assistant who was on the defensive and very aggressive - hardly conducive to appeasing a justifiably irate and upset customer! She said that she would call for a manager but more than 10 minutes later I was still waiting and, as I had an appointment elsewhere, I abandoned my trolley and left! Not the service I would expect from Waitrose and, in future, I will be taking my custom elsewhere!
