Complaint against Amazon

I find Amazon's approach to attracting members to its Prime service inappropriate. When shopping you are encouraged to choose a 'prime' service delivery, which is either the fastest, or labelled as free. It is not, as there is a £79 membership charge added to your credit card, with no clear statement on completion of your order that this is what you are signing up for. My 87 year old father has just fallen for this when ordering a book, and would never have realised if I had not helped him with his credit card bill this month. I would like Trading Standards to review this and make sure Amazon Prime is properly and clearly represented to all customers.

Amazon have refunded the money but have not changed their approach to how they advertise the prime offer on their site.
