Complaint against Apple
When I set-up an ipad for my 90 year old father I used a passcode I have now forgotten. I had never been warned that one day this would disable my ipad. I had never been asked what level of security I wanted. Two days ago ipad did ask me for this passcode. After a few futile attempts the device was disabled. I followed internet instructions on how to enable it. They didn't work for me. It turned out later, my cable was dodgy. To get ipad enabled again took one working day, a lot of aggravation and £30. The apple support wanted £90. My view: this policy has nothing to do with security, and everything to do with extortion.
