Complaint against Argos
Ordered an American fridge freezer from Argos and it was supposed to be coming this afternoon (4/06/19). Got a phone call at 7.30am to say it would not be coming until the next teatime. Got a phone call at 8am saying it would not be coming until 14th June. I gave my old fridge/freezer away yesterday to make room and stored my frozen stuff with a neighbour. So I am supposed to wait 10 days in this humid heat without a fridge. All they did was kept apologising, but no action! I have now asked for my money back and have gone elsewhere. I am so annoyed as I buy lots of stuff from Argos all year round. But will seriously think abut buying in the future. No compensation offered. So be warned, don't expect them to keep their word on delivery times as it depends on what vehicles they have and what type of vehicles they need to deliver certain items. You would think they would have an emergency vehicle to sort out and mop up incidents when they make huge mistakes. There was no communication between their various departments. They even text me at 9am saying good news your order is on its way!!!! Talk about twisting the knife. I have contacted them through Facebook etc. and all they do is apologise, saying there were 'issues'. They have said the wrong vehicle was arranged and they had to organise another. None of that helped me sitting with a lot of frozen food going to waste. Not even an offer of a £5 voucher - ridiculous!!! I would have thought a company of this size could have made a much better effort to sort this for me. I have wasted so much time and have had to go to several different shops to try to get another product more quickly. I am 70 years old and at the moment not very mobile. This has caused me so much stress.
