Complaint against Argos
After reading about certain makes of baby car seats being recalled as not fit for purpose by Argos we checked the Internet for the instructions from Argos on how to return it, a spokesperson for Argos said just return your seat to any Argos for a full refund, we then contacted customer services at Argos to confirm this and was told yes just bring it in and claim your refund, we did advise him that we no longer had the receipt but he said no problem you will still get the full refund, we then took it too our local store and was told in no uncertain terms that we could not have full refund as we had no receipt and we could only have the price it was now on sale for £49.95! half the price we paid, we did advise the assistant of our conversation with customer services but she wasn't changing her opinion, we then gave her our email and phone number so she could check on the system for our purchases from Argos that were done on a click and collect basis and she could go through them and see the purchase of the said car seat and the price we paid, she still said no. The thing is I am led to believe that although it is a Mamas and Papas car seat they were only ever issued to be sold at Argos so we couldn't have bought it anywhere else. I am disgusted with Argos, a company as large as they are arguing over what is to them peanuts and I am sure they will themselves be claiming the full price back from the company Mamas and Papas.
