Order an engagement ring in my local store before Christmas and wasn’t given a time scale for delivery. I needed a delivery date as we have a party booked. Phoned the main Argos who basically said they had no idea and put me through to a local store. The manager there said the ring was out of stock everywhere and to phone the main number again. Phoned again for the agent to put me through to my store where I purchased it from, they said it’d be 7-10 days. I’ve constantly been going to my local store for an update & was told yes it was in stock and would be with me before the needed date. 3 days before party date I went to check again to be told they now couldn’t find the order. The manager told the bloke to check the online system for the order status. They both gave each other a glance and then he turned the screen round and pointed to the word cancelled. I tried to explain to him how important this was and we had a party all booked & paid for. He wasn’t interested and had no empathy whatsoever. I phoned the main number straight away (was on for an hour) and he was a lovely bloke but couldn’t do much, he escalated the complaint to urgent and said I’d get a call within 24hrs....3 days later and I’m still waiting. Do yourself a favour and go to a proper jewellers instead of these clowns.
