Sofas purchased from SCS in July 2013, Faulty goods,continuous problems/repairs since May 2014

Complaint against ScS

Leather sofas delivered in July 2013, by May 2015 the surface of the leather was pitting (small black dots appearing). SCS technician came and inspected the sofas and applied a coat of dye (Cream paint) to the affected areas, saying it was due to a leather defect during manufacture. This problem reoccurred in March 2015 by which time the guarantee had expired and we were into Insurance period we had purchased . Insurers were Castelan Group. Complaint lodged with them in March, Technician visited 15 March 2015, compiled a report to be sent to Castelan's restoration team. Many phone call to process this claim over the next 3 months, finally a Castelan technician came on 30 June 2015 to remove the leather cover from the 2 seat sofa and repaint a damaged area on the 3 seat sofa. Covers returned & refitted on the12 August 2015. the 2 seat pad panels & 1 arm panel had been changed. The new panels were a slightly lighter shade of cream than the rest of the covers and made of a different leather (thicker), technician said they would blend in in time! October 2015 the replaced sweat panels are cracking. Reported to Castelan and a technician visited on 12 October to inspect the furniture. Awaiting response from Castelan. Contacted SCS on 12 October 2015 re claim against the Goods under the Sale of Goods Act as suggested by Citizens Advice, not interested as the 12 months guarantee had expired take it up with Castelan. Now don't know what's the best next move, don't want another 3 month wait for Castelans response.

Nothing, all SCS/Castelan are prepared to do is repeat the repair that should have solved the initial fault. But each time the settee cover is removed/refitted it stretches andlooks even worse than when we started. I admit to defeat and have bought a replacement from a reputable company. The only thing I have learnt from this experience is NEVER buy anything from SCS again.
