I ordered my sofa in August and was told 6 weeks delivery. I finally heard from them at the end of October to say it was in stock and to arrange a delivery date, which I did. The delivery was supposed to be on Tuesday between 12 and 7. I had a text saying it would be delivered at this time. I stayed in all day to wait for it and nothing arrived. Tried calling customer services at 7.30 pm but automated message tells me that they close at 6.00 pm which was not good. I was supposed to be going out to work but stayed in just in case they arrived late. I had no phone call and no communication whatsoever. On checking the next day (and making numerous phone calls) I have been informed that they can't find the sofa and it is missing. It has somehow been sent to Basingstoke store and although they have been contacted they don't have it there so it is a mystery! I am told I have to wait at least another 6 weeks for a replacement. The problem is I sold my old sofa at the weekend to make space for my new one and now have nothing to sit on! Southampton store manager has been very helpful and offered a loan sofa however I am inclined to cancel the whole thing and start again with another company, especially after reading the various reviews and complaints. I was offered £150 compensation (this doesn't even cover the delivery charge of £59 and my lost wages). After questioning this they increased it to £182 if I continue with the order. It is 4 weeks to Christmas (I am unlikely to buy another sofa anywhere now for delivery before Christmas) and my husband is getting ready to post photos of my mother-in-law sitting on the floor on Christmas Day! I am very disappointed with Harveys and will never shop with them again.
