[RESOLVED] - refund for faulty & dangerous dining chairs

Complaint against Harveys Furniture

bought dining table and chairs from harveys Newtownabbey branch that I had to pay in full before delivery goods arrived on time but when I checked chairs found 3 were shaky contacted harveys who told me they would replace all 4 chairs as they are sold in pairs so far so good got a delivery date but a few days before delivery date received phone call stating due to transport difficulty they would have to put back delivery by 3 weeks I told them I was not willing to wait that long and wanted a refund on my order that is when things got hot I was told I should have asked for a refund 24hrs after receiving my order as I would be liable for charges I stated that I reported it the next day after delivery I asked what was the hold up on my new delivery and was then told it was because of items out of stock I could see me being without a table and chairs for Christmas so I tried to come to a agreement with them but they offered me £25 off I told no they told me I had to send the furniture back before they would issue a refund that would take 14days I have been in contact with the store I bought it from and back in touch with customer services after 3 weeks trying to come to a arrangement they now state because it is a health and safety issue they canot come to a agreement I am not willing to trust harveys by sending the furniture back as they tell so many lies HOW COME IT WAS NOT A ISSUE WHEN THEY OFFERED £25 BUT THEY WERE WILLING TO PUT ME AT RISK FOR 3 WEEKS IF THE CHAIRS WERE A SAFETY ISSUE they still will not refund my cash STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS FIRM
