I have a child with a lifelimiting illness, I'm a full time carer, so am unable to work full time and money is very tight. A children's charity kindly offered to purchase us a tumble dryer to help with the burden of my sons 24 hour care needs. My tumble dryer is one of the affected dryers that needs a modification. Sadly I'm unable to carry out the company's safety advice as my sons care needs take me away from my dryer for long periods and I'm so scared that the dryer will catch fire. I have been chasing hotpoint with emails and phone calls for 5 months. Calls are never returned and emails go Unreturned. My last call to hotpoint caused much distress, when a company employee told me they were unable to arrange a quicker service call, but I could have a replacement for £99. I explained how the national childrens charity for sick children had payed for the full.cost, I was told to go back to the children's charity and ask them to pay for a replacement.... I'm disgusted with the treatment... I eventually got an appointment for this Friday to say the tumble dryer would be made safe, I have just received a call to say the engineer is unable to come now to the 30th August. Hotpoint have caused untold torment to my family... I just want a new dryer.....
