Complaint against Hotpoint

We received a new tumble dryer as a replacement for one that was apparently a fire risk and recalled. We had that dryer for 4 years without incident. The replacement TDWSF83BEP was delivered 18 months ago. The longest it has gone without breaking down is 6 weeks and we have had three replacements of which two replacements have been in the last 6 months. Having battled with Hotpoint for a refund or upgrade we have been without a tumble dryer now for two weeks as the engineer has to physically come and check the fault code despite this being exactly the same as all the other calls. When the dryer works it does a good job, it's a shame as it has a spacious drum and is easy to use. My advice would be take out the insurance policy as you will need it with this dryer and without Hotpoint would have left us high and dry.
