Complaint against Hotpoint
I am currently in a stalemate with Hotpoint over the tumble dryer debacle. My dryer is one of many manufacured with this fatal flaw and I would like it replacing. I have been offered for a modification appointment in February 2017 and this was brought forward to May 2016 after I complained about my dryer on the Hotpoint Facebook page. I didn't request the appointment nor did I express I was happy for my machine to be modified as I am not! I have refused modification and the offer to buy a substandard replacement dryer at my expense. I am arguing that the machine was sold to me defective, therefore not fit for purpose. My machine was manufactured in 2010,I purchased it in 2011. They are saying it's too old to be replaced free of charge, yrt this is rubbish! They are so indiscriminate in the treatment of their customers that age of the appliance is now irrelvant. This should be the case anyway as these machines were defective at point of sale. Hotpoint insist on replying to me with the same response/script and ignore my requests for a manager to contact me. They show utter contempt for their customers and this is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am just in a stand off at the moment with them but will not give up.
