Still no contact from Hotpoint re dryer modification

Complaint against Hotpoint

Registered our dryer for engineer visit at the start of the year. After a number of futile phone calls, and engineer visit being moved out to beginning of November, still heard nothing. No mention of machine being reojavee for free, only a list of replacement models @£99, the one which we would have bought, being consistently out of stock. All the others were either too low a capacity or hideously ugly. Fed up of checking for availability now. I really resent their whole attitude, from refusing to recall / replace all affected machines, insisting machines are safe to use whilst attended even though the London Fire Brigade categorically advise against it, to using this farcical situation of unsafe machines, in the face of a number of fires, to sell more machines. A despicable company, and now I read of a risk with some dishwashers. I'm similarly appalled that central Government haven't been bothered to intervene, even in spite of the terrible recent fire in a London tower block, causing utter devastation and rendering 26 families homeless. Will it take death by a tumble dryer fire to provoke action? This is what happens when a company puts shareholder return above customer safety. Shocking. Worst customer service and indifference to customer safety I have ever seen.
