I look after an elderly friend and today noticed she had received a letter from Easylife Motor Club saying that her trial period had come to an end and her annual payment of £59.99 would be taken from her account on 25.10.2017. She has no idea what it is for and cannot remember signing up or giving her bank details over the phone. I called them and asked how they had contacted her - apparently by phone - and had persuaded an 82 year old who has never driven AND is a wheelchair bound amputee to sign up! One would have assumed, if it was not a scam, that they would have asked questions about her car, annual mileage etc to sign her up for a motoring package. Next stop Trading Standards!
