My elderly mum fell victim to an unsolicited call from Easylife motoring club. An aggressive & relentless operator tried to sell her this product with a free £10 fuel voucher as the hook. She repeatedly declined this & said no product not wanted, eventually ending call. Operator ignored this & took £1.99 from her credit card the following day. I understand this is for a pack to be sent out & then a further £59.99 will be taken. We rang her credit card immediately & blocked Easylife - also had the credit card cancelled. Complained to Easylife motoring club (I insisted Easylife got them to ring me within the hour) they suggested mum must have agreed to Third Party calls when she signed up to Easylife - not true as I checked her online account & she had declined this. Therefore it suggests that Easylife are in breach of data protection laws by passing on her details and Easylife motoring club are guilty of unlawfully taking money from a person's account. I have reported this to Trading Standards and will also do the same to the Information Commissioners Office.
