Complaint against Currys PC World

On the 21st of September 2016 I bought a HP laptop costing £400 from Currys PC World at the Kensington High Street branch. The man serving me encouraged me to by a 'Care Plan' which he referred to as a 'warranty.' At the time I specifically asked him if the laptop had any warranty and he said 'no.' I was sceptical so I only bought one months 'warranty.' When I got home I opened my laptop box and found that there WAS a warranty provided by HP itself, of one year. So that in fact your employee actively lied to me in order to sell me the 'care plan.' I was going to complain about this, but instead I let it go. HOWEVER, checking my bank statement I see that £7.99 has been taken out of my account on the 24th of October 2016 by 'PRODUCT SUPPORT AG 0844 800 6080 GB' which is the same care plan. I was NEVER made aware that I was signing any form of direct debit, I was told it was for one month only. I find this completely unacceptable, to be lied to on two occasions with a total of £15.98 taken from my account for a service which I didn't need and didn't want but was pressured into getting by lies told by your employee. I demand a full refund of £15.98 to be made into my account immediately and for any direct debit to be cancelled with immediate effect. This was completely irresponsible behaviour by your employee and is unacceptable.

Hi Camila, Whilst HP provide a manufacturer's warranty, our Support Agreements provide additional benefits, including repairs due to mishap. Thank you A Spokesman Said, you were a great help. My problem has been rectified thanks to your easy to use way of communicating with the relevant authority. I would definitely recommend this website. Also I will never buy anything from Currys again as their staff lie and I'm sure that comes from pressure from their bosses to sell unnecessary packages to unsuspecting customers
