Complaint against Currys PC World
I bought a laptop earlier this year at Currys to take with me on my long travels. I didn't want any kind of "insurance", product support etc. from them, as I was going to take travel insurance which would cover the laptop and other gadgets anyway. So I just said no to any extra service I was offered in the shop while buying the laptop. Anyway, I just discovered that my credit card which I used for purchase is being charged £5.99 every month. I didn't provide any direct debit details nor agreed to any repeating payment. The only thing I can recall I was informed about and agreed to was a service of free replacement of the product in case it's defective in first 30 days, which was included with the purchase. The price of the laptop was £279.99. I just checked my bank statement and that was the amount I paid on 23.3.2018. First charge of £5.99 under the Product Support Ag name occured on 30.4.2018 and has been repeating since every month. I would like this to stop as at the time of purchase I was not aware of buying anything more than a laptop and "free" 30 day period which could be used for hassle free replacing of defective product.
