[LAPSED] AG product support bill to my account without my knowledge

Complaint against Currys PC World

Hello, I have just seen that I have been charged £8 for AG product support. I have so little idea of what this actually is that I had to Google it to discover who was really charging me. How can you get away with this kind of thing? It reeks of the PPI scandal to me. Presumably you signed me up to some sort of 'support package' (which by the way I certainly do not need and have never used as I have multiple qualifications in computer science) as I bought a laptop last September. Furthermore, when I went to cancel this 'service' by phone I found that it was an 0844 number which charged my network over 10p a minute so I refused to hold for the predicted 10 minute+ wait time. I am a customer who has bought an expensive item of electronics from you, why are you trying to rip me off? Please remove me from your AG product support list, refund me and consider adjusting your business model as I consider it to be close to scamming and therefore will avoid custom in future. I just had a quick sweep through the complaints on here directed to Currys PC World. 95% of them are in relation to this charge... That is madness, you are obviously doing something wrong - stop it. You are clearly believed to be a good company in other respects why do you engage in this practice?
