[RESPONDED] Being charged £8.50 per month for unwanted product support

Complaint against Currys PC World

I purchased a laptop from you in March 2016. I was told it came with 1 year free product support which would expire on 21/03/2017. I contacted you on 20/03/2017 to cancel the subscription, and this was assigned reference number 3430919213. I received an email back from [email protected] on 23/03/2017 to confirm that "as per your instructions, I have requested that your account be closed". However I appear to have been charged £8.50 every month since March. I have checked my credit card statements and I actually think I was being charged £8.50 per month from when I purchased the laptop, even though I was told that I got 1 year free product support. Please could you investigate as a matter of urgency and explain why I am being charged £8.50 per month despite receiving confirmation that my account would be closed. Please reimburse all payments that have been taken from me in error since March 2016. I would appreciate a response to confirm that you have taken action. Thank you Jennie Mulliner

Good evening Jennie, Thank you for getting back in touch. Plpease accept my apologies for the confusion caused, it seems that the payment taken (ref 3430919213) relates to a cloud service which was originally set up to renew annually. In contrast a payment of £8.50 would appear to relate to a support agreement paid for on a monthly basis.
