[LAPSED] Continious £4.99 taken from our account without permission - why?

Complaint against Currys PC World

A cost of £4.99 is continuously being taken from our account. I have no idea why and have only just figured out it is you from a google on the internet. Please get back to me asap - surely this is really bad practice? And its only from stumbling on this website that I have now realised it is happening to lots of people!

Hello Richard After emailing you and finding out the what this £4.99 continuous payment was... (insurance taken out without our knowledge!) you are now ignoring my emails to confirm you have cancelled the payment. Please get back to me asap.


Hi Electra, The last email I can see is - Hi Electra, Thank you for the speedy response. I have got this looked into and is a Repair and Support Plan for a Samsung TV that was purchased back in November. Agreement number is BHRHW***. Would you like me to cancel this for you? Kind regards, Louise

I replied to this email 3 times and no response. I called up in May and after finally getting through after being on hold etc the girl told me they cancelled the payment. Only for me to find once again you have taken another payment this month! Getting very cross with money being taken without my permission.


Hello, I can confirm that this agreement has since been requested. No payment has been requested since the 24th of April. As no claims have been made, a refund of all previous payments have been made. Richard

Hi Richard I called this morning and the problem was there was two agreements taken out (without our knowledge!) & they have now cancelled the second one also. The lady did say this should have been obvious & done when I first made contact. As I said to her, Currys have an obvious issue that their employees are miss-selling insurance and need to be clearer.
