Complaint against Currys PC World

Looking for a cooker and stand up fridge freezer. Find both in store. The cooker ny luck is marked at 50% off, £549. Happy days. Ask assistant if I can order the cooker and freezer, total cost £1800. After 5 minutes she says can't have the cooker. They are expecting a delivery but it will be at full price. Then why is it still on display? Isn't it against the law to advertise anything and then not sell it at that price. Asked to see the store manager see what we could do, its £1800 sale after all? Was told no..... customer service or what?

Hi Brendan, Thanks for getting in touch. I was concerned to hear of your recent experience in one of our stores, did a member of staff help you with resolving this matter and assist you with the purchase? Could you please confirm which store this was, when it happened and the details of the cooker you were looking to purchase? I'd like to investigate this. Thanks, Emily,

It was at Warrington Cheshire. Friday 28/10 and then again I went in on Sunday 30/10 - item was still on display at £549 - not marked as out of stock. Spoke to the manager this time he said, they keep it on display because they obligated to by the manufacturers. He couldn't tell me when they would be in. I could not even reserve it. Bought from elsewhere now.

Hi Brendan, please accept my apologies for any disappointment this caused. I do appreciate this was inconvenient to say the least! I'm glad the store manager addressed the situation with you. I've fed this back to the management team for review. I'm glad to see you have sourced your desired cooker, I'm sorry we let you down. If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know. Emily.

Unusal to think they believe the store manager "addressed the situation" he didn't. Also wrote direct to Currys they are conduction internal enquiry, but will be unable to send me the outcome. Cover up. Very poor service and pity of it is they have a massive market presence. I will never use them again..internet in future.

Sorry to hear you feel this way Brendan. The reason for internal investigations are that if any training issues or disciplinary matters are carried our during this process they are confidential to the employee and can not be released. -Leanne

The issue has never been addressed. They simply gloss over the problem. Beware of shopping with them.
