[RESPONDED] Faulty oven return

Complaint against Currys PC World

The Indesit oven I bought in August 2015 had a faulty glass door which exploded all over my kitchen and could have seriously injured myself or my partner. Indesit didn't respond quickly until I posted on Twitter which resulted in an uplift number. I contacted Currys who told me they could arrange pickup and couldn't process the return until it had gone back to the depot. Pickup was booked for Sunday 27 December. I called on Saturday to check on pickup at which point they said the admin team would input it and I would get a message telling me a 4 hour slot that evening. No message came through and I called again on Sunday and was told no pickup had been booked but they were checking and would call me back to arrange for Monday 28 December. I received no call and called again that afternoon to be informed that it was booked for Monday. At this point, I asked to speak to a manager to log a complaint and was told there was no manager available. Instead I was given a complaint number and an email address. Monday has now come and gone without an oven pickup. Since the issue occurred, it's coming close to a month that I don't have a working oven or refund. Understandably, I'm frustrated at having spent two days waiting for a pickup with no active response from Currys and having to wait a minimum of 20 minutes each time I want to speak to someone.

I can confirm that collection of the Oven has been booked for the Sunday 3rd of January under the reference 7426362940. This is the next available opportunity that we have available for an electrician to attend your home to disconnect appliance. Once collection has been confirmed, a refund will be requested back yo via the same method of payment that was initially used. - Richard
