[LAPSED] Feeling conned by Currys!!

Complaint against Currys PC World

I bought a laptop from Currys PC World and am now feeling incredibly angry and conned!!!! When I purchased, I was told I was being gifted some form of free support as they were doing an offer where they pay for it in the price. I was specifically told it was a one off, not monthly. Ever. I have had 10.50 taken from my account from "Product Support amg" Who are apparently going to charge me this every month!!! I never asked for this and was specifically told that it was a one of payment being gifted to me. I'd like a refund or I can assure I will never be shopping there again and all family and friends will be aware!!!! Scam.

Hi Zoe, thanks. I can confirm that the Care Plan was for the Mac & the 1st months payment was taken from the cost of the machine. As stated on the receipt, this is a monthly payment & you'd need to cancel this after that 1st month if this was not required. I have cancelled this as requested but am unable to issue any refund. - Jay

Apologies for the continued upset Zoe, it is your responsibility to check the details of your receipt. The store, although unable to remember the purchase, have stated you would have been advised that only the 1st month was free (as was deducted from the cost as was agreed) and to ensure you cancelled the agreement if not wanted at the end of the first month. - Jay

With the receipt was the terms and conditions of the Care Plan, which states in large lettering at the top of the first page "Monthly Agreement" and details payment schedule and the cooling off periods. We are unable to agree that you were not made adequately aware of this matter prior to a charge being made for the service. - Jay
