[RESOLVED] - I noticed today that I have been charged for months for something I had not been informed of.

Complaint against Currys PC World

I purchased a TV from Currys PL World in January. Today I noticed on my bank statement an amount for £3.50 pending from Product Support AG. It appears I have been billed for this amount monthly since February. I did not know what this charge was for but on further investigation into Product Support AG complaints i find Currys PC World has conned lots of it's customers most of whom were unaware and it has been happening for years! Is it possible to get a refund back to my account for the £21 I have been charged and stop further charges? This is exactly what banks are having to refund PPI for and technically is theft!! I will be posting about this on social media sites so that their customers are informed and I will not buy from this company again.

Good Morning Samantha, please accept my apologies for the issues you have raised. I can confirm that the payment in question is for a Service Agreement for your Television set, which would be shown on your receipt. I am happy to cancel the Service Agreement and refund the last payment taken as a goodwill gesture. Please confirm that you would like the Agreement cancelled - Shaun

Thank you for your response Shaun, however on this occassion i am not happy with the outcome. Surely it is the responsibility of your company to inform customers of the service agreement you provide and to ask if they wish to purchase such an agreement. I am insulted that you suggest i can have a refund of my last payment as a goodwill gesture for something i did not ask to purchase. I will be asking Martin Lewis to investigate this matter and informing my solicitor as a matter of principle.

Hi Samantha, Although we would advise checking your receipt to ensure no erroneous payments are due to be taken as a gesture of goodwill I am happy to look into reimbursing the money paid for the support agreement. I have also cancelled the support agreement so no further payments will be taken. Thank you aspokesman, I received a full refund after refusing an initial offer of refunding my last payment.
