Complaint against Currys PC World

On Friday 13th April 2018. I made an internet purchase that was going to be delivered in-store for me to collect on 14th. I went to to try and collect my item to find out it is lost in transit. I was told by staff (who phoned head office for me) that could take between 5 to 14 days to sort out. I asked why so long they said they have to investigate and find out were my item is . I was told I can't have a refund until they know were my item is I do not understand why they can't send another one and if the lost one turns up send it back to the warehouse. So has it is the company have got my money and I have no item.
