[LAPSED] Paid for some thing ,then had it taken away because offer price was still on show

Complaint against Currys PC World

Went to check out to pay for hp printer,and tasimo coffee maker, took out the extra cover on both items, put my card in and told it was 140£ so I questioned it ,because printer was 59.99 and tasimo had a price for 39.99. The chap came with me to see what price was by the tasimo, and he said that I would have it for the price it was advertised for because no one had changed the price, so it got complicated and he asked the supervisor to deal with it, and she said that I could not have that model tasimo and went up in front of me took the price down and got me a cheaper one so I to.d her I didn't want it I wanted the other one at the price it had on it ,but she got funny and put the money back on my card leaving me disgusted because I always thought if a item had a price ticket that was what you pay and if it's wrong then the staff are in the wrong for not changing it. I've brought several things from your Yeovil branch big and small but this has put me off.

If we do have a product that has been priced up incorrectly, this does not have to be offered by the retailer. This is known as an invitation to treat, the correct price that the retailer would expect is the one that is displayed at the point of sale (till)

Thank you for your reply Vanessa. I am sorry that you feel that my response was not to your satisfaction. The offer of 10 % was not something that I was aware of and may have been offered as a gesture of goodwill. Whilst I agree that the actions of the staff member may have been as seen as underhand, we have not provided any wrong doing on this occasion. Rich D
