Product support issues!!! Conned again

Complaint against Currys PC World

I bought a television from you last year. At the time product support was not mentioned to me. The advisor didn't say this was going to be on. She did offer the service and I refused. I'm not one to often check my bank statements as all my payments come out the first day of the month. I've just gone through my monthly payments with the bank and can see £6.50 a month has been coming out for 7 months. I've looked online and can see that many have been conned by this charge. What can be done. This is appalling and I'll take this further if not resolved. Thanks

Hi Danny, Thank you for your post. I am concerned that you have just seen this if the product support was not wanted. Please can you private message me your billing address and I will cancel this for you and raise the matter with the store in question. Thanks Georgia

Thank you for your reply Danny. We require your address details to find the agreement on our system so we can cancel it for you. At the point of purchase the sales advisor would have spoken to you with regards to this and may have offered you product support free of charge for the first month and then regular payments of £6.50 everymonth there after. From checking the agreement I can see that the payments are made by direct debit which suggests that a mandate will have had to be signed.....

.... in store at the time of purchase and documents for the agreement given to you at the time. We have cancelled the agreement as requested and we can see that a payment is due to be collected tomorrow. If this is collected we will refund this back to you unless you have already cancelled the dd with your bank. With regards to the payments that you have already made, we would not consider any refunds on these. Rich D

Hi Danny, We have logged your complaint, under case reference CC3023521. This will be addressed in store for internal review. Regarding the payments as we have a Direct Debit, we would advise speaking to your Bank or another 3rd party for further advise. The agreement is now fully cancelled and you will receive further documentation in the post to confirm this. Thanks Georgia

Hi Danny, if this months debit has already left your account, this will automatically be refunded as the cancellation was requested before the payment date. With regards to any previous payments, these will have to stand as a debit mandate was signed for and sent to the bank to set up. If the signature is not similar to the one the bank hold the debit instruction will be returned back to us.
