[LAPSED] Salesman's misrepresentation

Complaint against Currys PC World

I bought a Packard Bell computer from Currys PC World at their store in Southampton Road Park Gate SO31 6AF on 7th August where I was assured by their salesman that although this computer was low price it will work properly. It is so slow I cannot even type a message or a search question because of the delay between tapping a key and seeing the character appear on the screen. PC World says the PC performs correctly according to its specification. I have now cancelled their Know How Agreement because the engineers cannot assist me. They say my BT Broadband signal must be too slow but BT confirm that their speed in my house is well above the norm. All other devices work perfectly here. I have written to the store manage but received no reply as yet. I want this PC replaced or a full refund but am willing to purchase from them a more expensive PC that works.

I took the PC back, was told it was sent for test and is perfect. No exchange/refund which is all I will settle for. Martin Cooper 17 Privett Road Fareham. spk429

Hi Martin. I have not been able to find the receipt or service history, but you can still email us the address so we can review. Generally speaking though, if we have looked at an item, and feel there is no fault, we would suggest you can look to get an independent engineer's report to challenge our findings and then we can take from there, thanks, David
