Complaint against Currys PC World

We live in France. On a trip to the UK we bought 2 new laptops in PC World. After less than 5 months, the battery on my husband's laptop has completely failed - does not hold the charge and has to be plugged in at all times. As he is an IT contractor working away a lot this is not ideal! Dell insist we deal with PC World. PC World insist we take the laptop back to the shop or deal with Dell. Despite informing them of our rights (as advised by Citizens Advice Bureau), we are getting nowhere. Their attitude is appalling. Have escalated the complaint to the ombudsman now

Hi Lisa, Im sorry the laptop battery has failed. A battery is classed as a consumable item so typically isnt covered under manufacturers warranty. If you can email the purchase address to [email protected] with ref SPK1031 in the subject bar, we can look to see if you have any additional warranty. - Rach
