[LAPSED] Washing machine ' not fit for purpose'.
Complaint against
Currys PC World
I bought washing machine 3 years ago for £300. Unfortunately, drum bearings are gone. Sale of goods Act says that goods should be of ' satisfactory quality' and last ' reasonable' amount of time. Clearly washing machine is NOT ' fit for purpose' because should last longer then 3 years, no doubts! I believe I should be entitle to free repair from the RETAILER who is legally responsible for the goods it sells. I went to the Oxford branch and told all that to the manager. Funny enough, he agreed with me that washing machine shouldn't broke that quick BUT....There is nothing Currys can do about it, they can't help me in anyway. So basically the Sale of Goods Act means nothing to them!He gave me the advise: I should go to the citizens advice bureau, they might be able to help???!!! This is not good enough. For average person £300 it's a lot of money! I am expecting Currys to take responsibility for what they selling and not only be nice and helpful when they want to sell something. You should value your customers! I will NOT be purchasing from this retailer again for two reasons:Faulty Products and Terrible Customer service.
