Complaint against Debenhams

I purchased a coat in the sale with 50%reduction. On returning home my husband noticed the collar and cuffs were bubbly with beads of the fabric loose. I returned the coat together with my receipt. I was refused a refund because of the half price reduction but was offered a gift token. I asked to speak to the manager who was not available. The assistant manager -Sarah Fox- informed me I should have read the small print on the back of the receipt re sale goods. I am most upset to think you can sell faulty goods and offer such dreadful customer service. I would appreciate your comments. The Debenhams shop was at Cheshire Oaks
