Complaint against Shopper Discounts and Rewards

My story is all too familiar I think. I spotted a payment on my credit card bill and phoned the company. The recorded message said I could cancel my subscription and I did so but on further investigation I asked them to refund my payment. At this stage I had no idea it was a monthly payment. No reply but I did get a written letter telling me my email was out of date - I had left there three years ago. Further emails requesting a refund and proof that I had signed up for a 'service' . I have been scammed no question. I shall take them to County Court in the event of a non refund but how are they able to do this to so many people? Its my fault for not checking my statement, but its still annoying.

Hello Mary We both know that's not true. The registered id is one I haven't used for some years now. The ID I have been writing to you from - four times now, is the one that I would have expected a reply to. I suspect that its a delay tactic or worse - still its nice to actually have a response, so I should be grateful. Perhaps you could read your emails and reply to my current id? Thanks

Well hats off. My subscriptions have all been refunded. I'm surprised and delighted. I'm not pleased that I went so long with getting no communication from Shoppers Discount (but I didnt check my credit card bill so that's not all their fault) and I'm not pleased it took several emails to be ignored before I tried this site... But the moneys all back and I can only say thank you. Thank you Mary at Shoppers Discount, and thanks 'A Spokesman said' Steve
