Complaint against Atlas Editions

We are pensioners, my husband has Alzheimer's. He saw Atlas advertising model cars, buses etc, thought would be a nice gift for grandson. Ordered by phone. They do not accept payment on ordering. The item arrived. The invoice is sent sometime but is attached to an advert so unless you are aware you don't recognise it. Letter arrived from a Collection Agency followed shortly by further models which we had not ordered. Unfortunately my husband does not always fully understand what is said on the phone nor does he remember. I paid for what I thought was 2 models. I wrote to Atlas telling them I did not want the additional items and returned them. I asked CAB for advice and they suggested paying the Collection Agency as it was a small amount. I did that. Then two more lots of models were sent to us but in both cases I refused to take them from the postman, who said he knew other people on his route were having similar problems. I wrote to Atlas in October and November telling them I did not want any more to do with them. Then I saw that on 9th December they took three payments of £11.88 from my husband's credit card. In the beginning I tried to phone Atlas - spent a lot time and money waiting for my 'important' call to be attended to but never got any reply. I have written on three or four occasions and also returned the unwanted items but have had any response whatsoever. It has been a very frustrating exercise, I feel so helpless, I cannot speak to anyone there and no one writes to me. I have emailed my bank but of course with the holiday period they haven't done anything yet. I think we should cancel the credit card but I don't suppose we'll get any money back. Is there anything that can be done?
