Complaint against Wilko

On behalf of the care home for elderly and frail people, I purchased several parasols on Wednesday 06/06/18. 2 of them i obtained from the Tottenham Hale branch. not having the colour desired ,for the third one, I had to go all the way to your Wathamstow branch to get the third one needed. It is far from where I live and the traffic was very heavy. But i was happy to be able to complete my purchase. Unfortunately when we opened the bag( as the parasols where sold in zipped bags), the main support pole was missing. For me to return to the shop was NOT an option. It was a negligence on your part to sell a faulty item. Your staff at customers service was MOST UNHELPFUL,UNCOOPERATIVE, INEFFICIENT And expected us to fork out more money to collect the missing part that was found loose among your other ones. Please note: To sell a FAULTY ITEM is a mistake on YOUR part, Any reputable company accepts their mistake and make suitable arrangement to resolve the problem. Not your staff. One hour on the phone it took to get them to accept that we send a car to collect AT OUR EXPENSE, a minicab to collect the missing item. It costed £18.00 plus an hour of work and aggravation. This is not acceptable. The expenses should be refunded by the party responsible for the aggravation and adequate compensation offered . This is the norm among all companies of repute. We sincerely hope that you are in one of them, too.That this was an isolated incident and you will respond in kind to retain your good name.
