Complaint against Scotts of Stow
I ordered a Tower Rotisserie for £77.95 from Scotts of Stow. It arrived after 14 days on a Friday and I was very happy it arrived and could not wait to cook my meat joint for Sunday roast that weekend. When It came to testing the Rotisserie (I wanted to see what it looked like when lit up) , I noticed it was not heating but the blue light was on. After leaving it on for a while in case it was slow to heat up it was clear the heating element was faulty. At this point I was very disappointed and decided to arrange for a replacement on the Monday as I obviously still wanted a Rotisserie and put this down to a fault. On the Monday it was arranged that a collection of the Rotisserie would take place on the Wednesday. No collection was made and on calling again , collection was re-arranged. This same thing happened on four other separate dates over the next few weeks and by then I was losing patience and no longer wanted a replacement. I wanted a refund and to never contact the company again. I called again now 5 weeks later! To voice again the rudeness of the complaint staff and the terrible customer service. I stated I wanted my refund and nothing else from them. I was told due to the problem with the collections they had sent out prepaid labels two days earlier and that they would release my refund on that day out of courtesy due to the problems I have had with them. Then 5 days later!! No refund!! I have called (now today) expressing the annoyance of once again no progress towards resolving this. I was told the request for a refund was noted but as they didn't have the item then it was not released! The opposite of what I was told the week before!! I have then told them how can I get my money back if they have not collected the item on six scheduled occasions and the prepaid labels never arrived. Our response today is a collection will be arranged for tomorrow and once this has been collected I need to call to get the refund released. I do not hold my breath for it to be collected and even if by a miracle they do collect, this company is so shady I will be taking pictures of the collection to prove it and getting my refund. All this hassle just so they can scam money from people. With customer service like that and poor quality products no wonder they have such bad reviews. MY MISTAKE: I did not read the reviews first - lesson learnt.
